Types of Drama Schools.
Below are some examples of the different types of courses drama schools offer, with a bit of an explanation to help you understand a bit more about what they are;
Most decent drama schools London will offer some sort of courses specifically designed for infants, generally aged between four and seven. These courses are designed to enhance various different skills such as their creativity, whilst providing them with a safe and secure environment to do it in. They will develop their singing skills, their dancing skills and through role playing activities will learn how to use their imagination and interact with others.
The next age group is six to eighteen year olds, where students now get an opportunity to really test out the skills they learnt at the early years course. They will now spend probably twice as long on the course honing their talents. They will still carry out the basic classes, such as dance classes, where they will now be given the chance to learn how to improve their coordination and technique or singing classes, where the students will experiment with different rhythms and tempos aiding them in improving their vocal abilities.
Then there is the eighteen plus courses, where the students are now taught what they need to know to be able to get accepted into musical theatre schools or vocational drama schools. Again they will study the three different training categories they have been learning all of their lives but a lot more in depth this time. Students will now learn in depth dance routines, improving their confidence, learn to create harmonies within groups whilst learning to show the true meaning of a song through their own emotions. They will also learn to interpret scripts in their own way, and develop accents etc to improve their acting skills.
